Cholera patients in Niger State will get free treatment, the government has said.
Commissioner for Health Dr Mustapha Jibrin spoke when he visited the Umaru Sanda Ndayako General Hospital in Bida Local Government Area.
Residents said the cholera outbreak started two weeks ago.
The Nation gathered that the disease covered 14 wards in Bida, five settlements in Lavun and six cases in Gbako Local Government Area.
Jibrin added that seven of the 74 patients in the Umar Sanda General Hospital Bida had died.
He promised that the government would work towards curtailing the outbreak
